    Os eventos meteorol\u00f3gicos extremos est\u00e3o a aumentar devido \u00e0s altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas. De facto, os estudos de atribui\u00e7\u00e3o realizados relativamente a cada evento extremo indicam que as altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas j\u00e1 s\u00e3o uma das causas que originam mais de dois ter\u00e7os desses acontecimentos, prevendo-se que, num cen\u00e1rio de aumento do aquecimento global, registar-se-\u00e1 um crescimento desses eventos extremos.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Dado que estes acontecimentos protagonizam os maiores desastres, \u00e9 pertinente considerar a adapta\u00e7\u00e3o como uma prioridade. A natureza das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas j\u00e1 n\u00e3o responde aos modelos do passado, o que nos obriga a agir num panorama de grande incerteza. Contudo, a adapta\u00e7\u00e3o a eventos extremos \u00e9 uma a\u00e7\u00e3o das denominadas \u201ctodas ganham\u201d (win-win) porque, mesmo que o pior n\u00e3o venha a ser uma realidade, estaremos preparados para o que possa vir a acontecer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Abordaremos nesta sess\u00e3o os quatros eventos principais que causam enormes perdas humanas, danos materiais e ambientais: secas, inunda\u00e7\u00f5es, vagas de calor e inc\u00eandios. O objetivo desta sess\u00e3o \u00e9 aprofundar a forma como se desencadeiam, quais as perspetivas face ao futuro e que a\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e3o a ser tomadas, e as que poderiam ser tomadas, para estarmos preparados antes da sua incid\u00eancia. <\/span><\/p>\n
